Shane Morrison, a Ph.D. candidate with the zoology department at Oklahoma State University, was the first recipient of the department's Paracelsus Award. The annual award recognizes academic excellence in the Graduate Certificate program for Interdisciplinary Toxicology.

Dr. Gilbert O. Sanders has been chosen to receive the American Psychological Foundation’s 2014 “Gold Medal Award for Life Achievement in the Practice of Psychology” award.

The award recognizes a distinguished career and enduring contribution to advancing the professional practice of psychology through a demonstrable effect on patterns of service delivery in the profession. Previous recipients include several former presidents of the American Psychological Association.

Dr. Linda Leavell, professor emerita of English at OSU, won the Plutarch Award for best biography of 2013 as judged by fellow biographers. Leavell won for her book titled Holding on Upside Down: The Life and Work of Marianne Moore.

Six Oklahoma State University students have been selected for the National Science Foundation's Graduate Research Fellowship Program, one of the oldest and most prestigious graduate fellowship programs in the United States. 

The fellowship is awarded to individuals who have demonstrated their potential for significant achievements in science and engineering research and provides three years of financial support to pursue graduate work.
