Jennifer Daer Shields, an Oklahoma State third-year clinical psychology Ph.D. student, was recently awarded a $60,000 Doris Duke Fellowship for the Promotion of Child Well-Being from Chapin Hall, a research and policy center, at the University of Chicago. The award is designed to find and develop a new generation of leaders dedicated to and capable of creating practice and policy innovations that will enhance child development and improve the nation’s ability to prevent child abuse and neglect.

The Oklahoma State University Boone Pickens School of Geology welcomes Dr. Timothy W. Lyons to campus on Friday, April 1 at 12:30 p.m. inside Room 108 of the Noble Research Center.  The world-renowned biogeochemist will present his lecture titled, “Alternative Earths? What Our Planet’s History May Tell Us About Life in the Universe.”

For the third-straight year, the Oklahoma State University Trumpet Studio won a national title by taking first place in the Large Ensemble Division at the 2016 National Trumpet Competition, held in Columbus, Georgia. Additionally, master’s candidate Justin Weisenborn placed first in the Graduate Solo Division.
